Christmas sales in Poland. Christmas and New Year sales in Poland: when to go for winter sales. Shopping centers in Poland

In Poland there are always some kind of “Zniżki” - “Znizhki”, if in Ukrainian, and “Discounts”, if in Russian. Local residents are very fond of such events, and guests of the country who come for shopping purposes do not lag behind them.

In Poland, they decided not to bother with sales calendars; the government considered such regulation unnecessary. Therefore, all Polish trade organizations decide their own internal issues, including when and how to hold promotions and sales. That is, everyone is his own master, which is why “Zniżki” last almost continuously in Poland.

However, the European tradition of winter and summer sales is strictly maintained. This is understandable, we need to do what is useful for business. If all Europeans take part in Christmas sales, then when they come to Poland at this time, they are bound to find themselves in the usual atmosphere of purchasing frenzy. Next time, you'll see, they'll come specially. And this is additional profit.

Winter sales

They, as elsewhere in Russia, actually fall into two parts: the first - from the beginning of December to Christmas, and then the second - January and February. In the first part there is only a premonition of the holidays, and the discounts are still minimal, at the level of 15%.
But after Christmas, “Zniżki” acquires real scope. At this time, stores are trying to sell out winter collections as much as possible and prepare for the sale of spring-summer assortment. Therefore, buyers in droves are sweeping expensive fur coats, down jackets, boots, warm jackets, and sheepskin coats off the shelves at discounted prices.
The whole country is looking forward to these sales, and since they last a long time, all winter, you can catch the sale in Warsaw, and Wroclaw, and in, and in, and in. By the way, the best sales happen in Gdansk. Discounts in the middle of the season are already significant, 50-70%, but the goods are still available, energetic shopaholics have not yet grabbed all the sizes. Therefore, arriving in Poland in the middle of winter, you can significantly expand your winter wardrobe. And you can also save a lot of money on this.

Summer sales

They last all summer, from June to August, and, of course, the most favorable time for buyers is July. In August, especially towards the end, there will already be a 90% discount, but there will be practically nothing to choose from. True, there are buyers who either have non-standard, slow-moving sizes, or are simply lucky. Here they can be boiled well at the end of the discount season.

Off-season "Zniżki"

They appear 1 month after the end of winter or summer discounts. Stores display them independently, not at the same time, and the discounts are low, ranging from 20-30%. But these are new collections that have just gone on sale.

Regular "Zniżki"

They are held periodically in supermarkets and are selective. As a rule, they happen once a week and are tied to certain types of goods. Information about them appears on the company’s website and in the press.

As you can see, sales and promotions are constantly present in Poland, in winter and summer en masse, and sporadically in spring and autumn. And the cities of Poland conduct the Zniżki company in different ways, so you can travel around half the country during the entire period and take part in the most interesting sales. There's enough time.

We use it ourselves, so we recommend: booking flights on Aviasales and hotels on Hotellook, watching excursions on, or

Famous for their sales. It is during this period that you can buy branded clothing and shoes at a ridiculous price. And since sales in Belarus are extremely limited and have a narrow range, hundreds of compatriots on the eve of Catholic Christmas flock to Europe to catch a grand shopping spree. The most popular destinations are Lithuania and Poland.

We found out what and how much you can buy during the Christmas sales in Warsaw and Vilnius, and what the travel costs will be.

Poland

Special sales in Poland begin already on the eve of Christmas. You can go to Polish shopping centers starting December 20. Store owners offer discounts on all products. This is much more profitable than keeping the goods in a warehouse.

Prices fall by 20-50%. A total collapse in prices begins after Catholic Christmas, that is, from December 26-27. Most stores sell their goods with discounts of up to 80%.

For example, in the Ziote Tarasy shopping center in Warsaw, sales start on December 27 and continue until Valentine's Day. Discounts are provided not only on clothes and shoes. During sales, you can buy household appliances and furniture at a reduced price, and you can also use cosmetic services with discounts.

Wherein for clothes and shoes it is better to go to Warsaw. Tops, T-shirts, bodysuits on sale are offered for 19.90 zlotys ($6), men's pullovers and vests - from 34 zlotys ($10), T-shirts cost 29.90 zlotys ($9), skirts - 39.90 zlotys (12 dollars). dollars), trousers for women and men - from 49.90 zlotys (15 dollars).

If your shopping goal is household appliances and electronics, you can stop in Bialystok. For example, at sales you can buy a Real washing machine for only 1,680,000 Belarusian rubles in equivalent, a Sony TV (32 inches) - for 4,270,000 rubles, prices for 4.3-inch navigators start from 610,000 rubles, a microwave oven - from 500 000 rubles.

When going shopping in Poland, you should take into account the cost of the visa fee, which is 60 euros. The cost of a two-day shopping tour to Warsaw from Belarusian tour operators reaches $100 per person. You can go to Bialystok cheaper: for 20-35 dollars. It should be borne in mind that there is a night market in Bialystok, so you can save a lot of time.

Lithuania

The largest sales in Lithuania also occur on the eve of the Christmas and New Year holidays. The week of the biggest discounts usually runs from December 19 to 24. There are sales later, but often the items are no longer in stock.

Unlike seasonal sales, New Year's discounts in Lithuania apply not only to clothes, shoes, perfumes, but also to household appliances and dishes. Discounts reach 50-60%.

In addition, during Christmas sales in Lithuania, there are discounts of up to 30% on almost all necessary foods and drinks for the holiday table.

Also in Lithuania, perfume stores of the world famous Douglas chain are open, where products from many famous brands can be purchased at a discount of up to 45%.

The visa fee for Lithuania is also 60 euros. A shopping tour to Vilnius in Belarusian travel agencies costs from 25 euros + 120,000 tourist services. It is much cheaper to get to Vilnius by train. A round trip trip in a shared carriage will cost 170,000 Belarusian rubles.

The cost of a one-way ticket in a compartment carriage of the Minsk-Vilnius train is 180,000 rubles.

Polish discounts before Christmas and New Year are popular not only among local residents, but also among guests who come here from other countries.

In Poland, the feast of St. Nicholas is celebrated on December 6th. It is from this day that the start of Christmas and New Year sales traditionally begins. They will last until 31.12.

But you need to count on the fact that the first weekend of sales this year will not be working. On December 9, 2018, a trade ban law was introduced in the country, and therefore all stores will be closed. It won't be possible to speed up the shopping on December 25 or 26, since these days are considered official holidays. There will be shortened working days (including for sellers) on December 24 and 31. Stores will be open until approximately 4 p.m.

The most popular items on sale are the items in the shopping galleries. This is not the first year that buyers have seen the benefits of purchasing household appliances, shoes, clothes, furniture, bags, and children's goods during this time. Famous brands such as Bershka, Divers, CCC, Esprit, Mojito, Mango, New Look, Zara, Orsay, Top Secret and others are taking part in the sales.

Popular and profitable products on sale include perfumes, jewelry, and cosmetics. Don’t be upset if you weren’t able to buy something profitably in the first days of the sale, because it will last until the beginning of the New Year and there will be enough goods for everyone. During the winter sales in Poland, you can buy winter models of shoes and clothing at a profit.

Before you make any purchases, be sure to check out. There are some restrictions.

What discounts can you expect?

Although the discount period in Poland begins on December 7, the biggest discounts can be expected during the Catholic Christmas period. They can be 50-70%.

Those who have already been on Christmas or other seasonal discounts more than once should take into account several rules of local sales:

  • At the start of the sale, the selection of promotional goods is huge, but the discounts are not high - up to 20-30% (in most stores).
  • Discounts of up to 70% are often available at the end of the sale, but the selection of goods is not as huge as at the beginning. Running sizes are practically impossible to find.
  • In different stores and shopping centers, promotions may start on different days, so you need to keep an eye on the store or product you are interested in.
  • To get a large selection of goods, it is better to come on Thursday-Friday, when stores put out goods before the weekend.
  • In large shopping centers or galleries, you can get cheap things either during the day or at night - the store may say, for example, “discount night.”

Is it possible to return Tax Free from purchases at December sales?

In addition to discounts during the sale period, Belarusians and other non-residents of the European Union can return VAT by applying for Tax Free. The amount that will be returned back can be up to 23% (depending on the product purchased). To do this, when purchasing, be sure to ask the store seller to fill out a special form (but first find out whether the store has such a service). A prerequisite for this is the purchase of goods worth at least 200 zlotys. Read more about the procedure for returning VAT in Poland.

It’s worth going to Poland for inexpensive clothes and shoes from popular European and local brands. Prices here are significantly lower than in other European countries, especially for affordable brands. The best cities for shopping are, of course, the capital Warsaw, as well as Krakow, Gdansk and Lodz, where shopping can be combined with walks to local attractions.

Store opening hours

Most shops in Poland are open on weekdays from 9:00 to 18:00-20:00. Many of them are closed on Sundays, and Saturdays are a short day (until 14:00-15:00). Large chain supermarkets and malls are usually open seven days a week and late - until about 10 p.m. There are 24-hour stores in Poland, especially in resort areas, but, as a rule, you can find at least one in every district of the city.

Sales

In Poland, as in the rest of Europe, there are two sales seasons - in summer (late June - early September) and winter (immediately after the New Year and until mid-February). By the end, discounts reach 60-70%, but it’s better to come shopping in the middle, while there is a large selection of models and sizes. Many stores periodically offer off-season discounts, most often in May and November. There are also special “night promotions” when goods are sold at significantly reduced prices.

Food and wine

The most popular gastronomic souvenir from Poland is Krakow sausage. It is prepared from lean pork, seasoned with herbs and garlic - this was the case in the 16th century, and since then the recipe has not changed. Another interesting Polish meat delicacy is smoked “kabanosi” sausages. Previously, they were made only from horse meat; today they use turkey, pork and other meats. The sausages are first smoked, then dried for a long time and finally consumed with beer - kabanosi is considered one of the best beer snacks. Also traditionally brought from Poland is sheep's cheese "Oscypek", which has been produced here since the 15th century. This is a hard smoked cheese that is difficult to compare with any other; it has a slightly tart taste and is easy to transport.

Those with a sweet tooth will love Torun honey gingerbread with various fillings of fruits, berries or rose petals and “chestnuts” - small cakes filled with crushed wafers, cream and cocoa. The best places to buy sweets are at the confectioneries Blikle in Warsaw, Elite in Poznan and Wentzel in Krakow - they are considered the best in the country.

As for local alcohol, local vodka “Zubrovka”, elite herbal liqueur “Goldwasser” with pieces of real gold (there is a legend that they once cured the Pope of Rome from a fatal disease) and cherry liqueur “Babuni” are brought from Poland.

Polish wine is not the most famous product on the market, but nevertheless there are vineyards here, and wine is produced in Poland. The most interesting varieties are considered to be “Sileskoe”, “Zhukhovskoe”, “Kuyavskoe” and “Zapadnopomerskoe”, and the brands are Elmer, Feromer, Cuvee Fronther, Solaris and Regent Reserva.

December in Poland is traditionally a month of big discounts and sales. However, in order not to miss out on the best deals from numerous shopping centers in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, you need to know exactly where and when the most interesting promotions will take place.

So, December 5 in Poland- has already become traditional, Free Shipping Day. For the first time, Polish online stores took part in the Dzień Darmowej Dostawy (DDD) campaign in 2010, following the example of the United States. And then this proposal created a furore among buyers, who often refused to purchase a particular product precisely because of the price of its delivery. The promotion has become so popular that 853 Polish online stores will take part in it this year. Mandatory conditions for buyers: ordering products only within the Polish state. In all other respects, there will be no restrictions on the quantity, cost, or range of goods. A list of stores where you can make profitable online purchases on this day is presented on the website of the organizers of the promotion www.dziendarmowejdostawy.pl.

Numerous December sales will be dedicated to St. Nicholas Day which is celebrated in Poland December 6. Holiday discounts are expected in literally all stores in the country, from branded stores to chain supermarkets. For example, the Biedronka network began preparing for this holiday on November 15th. From this day on, every Thursday in the chain’s stores you can buy themed decorations, toys, and home accessories at very low prices.

Next - the most long-awaited in Poland Christmas sales. They will go on sale in all shopping galleries in Poland on the eve of December 25th. Prices for clothing, shoes, bags, children's goods, furniture, and home appliances will fall by a record 50% and sometimes 70%. According to tradition, this year the following brands will participate in Christmas promotions in Poland: Bershka, ButyRaj, Carry, CCC, Cropp, Diverse, Esprit, Guess, H&M, Mango, Mohito, New Look, Orsay, Zara, Top Secret and many other companies. Clothing sellers will definitely be joined by furniture stores, as well as jewelry, cosmetics and perfume stores. However, we recommend planning profitable shopping not for the holidays themselves, but in anticipation of them, since all stores will be closed on December 25 and 26.

If you don't have time to make profitable purchases on the above days, don't worry. Ahead New Year's sale, which will be held in stores in Poland until December 31. By the way, it will be timed not only for the holidays, but also for the beginning of seasonal discounts. So, with the promotion you will be able to buy winter clothes and shoes, accessories and other goods of the outgoing season. The only downside to this sale is that after the tempting Christmas discounts, you won't always be able to find the item in the right size or color.
