About thirty teams from Ukraine, Russia, Belarus and Moldova take part in the competition. Athletes at least 18 years of age who have undergone special training and have an underwater hunter’s certificate are allowed to participate.

According to the organizers, the largest record fish that was caught at the Slavic Cup was a catfish weighing over twenty kilograms.

The famous singer Andrei Makarevich came here several times to spearfish.
