Deserted beaches of the big one. Deserted beach. Stone Beach, Canada

Summer is vacation time. And despite the fact that in winter we can freely go to hot countries under the scorching sun, summer is still a special and magical time. As Grishkovets said, we need to spend the summer. Moreover, it’s a pleasant time, without the fuss and crowds of tourists always chewing something, screaming children who pour or pour something on your head, and drunk neighbors on the beach. Agree, a vertical solarium on a public beach somewhere in Odessa, Yalta or Sochi, if you get there later than 8 am, is not a very pleasant and useful activity. Vertical, because after 8 a.m. it’s not like you can lie down there comfortably, there’s even nowhere to sit. All that remains is to stand. But it turns out that not everything is so hopeless, and there are still places in the world that are practically pristine in the literal sense of the word. Forbes magazine found 9 such places, and we will share them with you.

2. Pločica Island (Croatia)

If you have a dream to rent an island for the summer, then it is quite feasible. And for quite little money. To do this, you just need to come to Croatia and rent an apartment on the island of Pločica. There is a lighthouse for rent, which looks more like a two-story villa. The island itself can be walked around in half an hour. And, most importantly, no tourists except you and your guests.

3. Tai Long Wang (Hong Kong)

Even though Hong Kong is one of the regions with a high population density, there are places where you can retire. You will just need to spend more time and be patient, because you will first have to take a bus, then a boat, and then walk. This beach is located in the Sai Kung Country Park.

4. Polihua (Hawaii)

5. Jiwani (Pakistan)

Makran is a narrow strip of coastline that stretches for almost a thousand kilometers and passes through Pakistan and Iran. Now the section between Karachi and Jivani can be easily reached along the highway. There are few tourists there, and not many local residents either. It is very beautiful and deserted, and you can also see green and olive sea turtles.

6. Arabat Strelka (Ukraine)

This beach is practically deserted for 80 km. The Arabat Spit is the longest spit in the world, separating the Sea of Azov from Sivash. The Sea of Azov is not as deep as the Black Sea, but here you can take a break from the crowds of people who are currently literally fighting for a place in the sun in Crimea.

7. Derawan Island (Indonesia)

It will take you longer to get here than to the Arabat Spit, but it’s worth it. Derawan Island is located 20 km off the northeast coast of Kalimantan. You can walk around it in an hour, visit a coconut plantation and meet not only the locals, but also sea turtles.

An American woman named Angela Hernandez can rightfully be called a “modern-day Robinson Crusoe,” because she was able to spend a whole week on an uninhabited beach after falling from a height of 60 meters. The 23-year-old girl disappeared on July 6, 2018, while driving her car to Southern California. As it turned out, the girl was driving a car along a winding road, and sharply jerked the steering wheel when she noticed some small animal on the road.

Her car broke through a barrier and flew off a cliff 60 meters high. The girl woke up only a few hours later and realized that she had received multiple injuries. She had 4 broken ribs, both collarbones, collapsed lungs, and all the blood vessels in her eyes had burst, but she was still alive.

When she unfastened her seat belt and climbed out of the wrecked car, she realized that she was in a very difficult situation. She was essentially on a deserted beach, surrounded on all sides by rocks, where her mobile phone could not pick up the cellular network.

For the first few days, she drank rainwater, which she managed to collect using a torn coolant hose from the car, and ate moss growing on the rocks. After 3 days, she realized that she would not receive help, so she decided to move along the rocks to another beach.

She was unable to get across, and now she began to try to find a hill from which she could signal for help. She explained: "I kept playing the same songs in my head, imagining the food I would be able to eat when they found me, imagining the face of the person who would find me."

Salvation came only on the seventh day, when she woke up and saw a woman running along the beach, followed by a man. It was a married couple who noticed a broken fence on the road and a broken jeep at the bottom of the gorge. They called rescuers, who took Angela to the hospital.
